Get to know me Challenge

I realized I had never introduced myself properly on my blog. So I thought, taking part in the “Get to know me challenge” could be a good idea for that. So here are 10 more or less random facts about me.

  1. I lived in London for a year in the early 1990ies as an Au Pair, which was the best year of my life. I love this city, made very good friends and met a lot of musicians with whom I am still friends.
  2. I dream vividly, in color and both in English and German. Only architecture is always wrong, I remember one dream where the Picadilly Circus was built completely in red brick stones!
  3. Hashimoto and asthma were the first autoimmune diseases I got diagnosed with. Celiac disease, endometriosis and ME/CFS followed over the last 15 years. Yes, those buggers love company.
  4. I have multiple allergies, food intolerances, and I am highly lactose-intolerant. I even wrote a book about it in German!
  5. Talking about books: as a teenager I always wanted to go to our huge local bookstore, point to a book and say: I wrote that! Well, it didn’t happen that way as the bookstore closed down over a decade ago. But I have successfully published more than 1700 books on Amazon. I cut them down to 350 in 2023 for various reasons, but I still get excited when I press the publish button. The books are mostly puzzle books, health journals, witchcraft books, a poetry book, and the book about lactose-free living.
  6. Talking about witchcraft: I always say I am freelance in my beliefs. I was into British druids, Tibetan Buddhism and Christian female mystics in the Middle Ages. In recent years, I have fully embraced being an art witch. It allows me to enjoy my passions for creativity, painting, nature, and crystals. But don’t worry, this newsletter will more or less stay neutral!
  7. Art is another big thing for me. I had art as a major in school and except for a few years as a new mom I was always painting and drawing. I joined a charity exhibition last year and was proud to see my pictures displayed. I plan to take part this year again!
  8. Writing is like breathing to me – I can’t live without it. I started writing poetry when I was 12 years old. Here you can find my weekly poetry newsletter, if you are interested in it!
  9. I also love writing stories, mainly fantasy. In my twenties, I wrote a Sherlock Holmes story and did a lot of research in London and Munich, which I really enjoyed. I’m currently writing a paranormal women’s fiction story in German.
  10. I used to say that I disliked people with different talents, like David Bowie, who I actually admire. But then I realized that I am one of them. Not only do I enjoy writing and painting, but I also have a passion for playing the piano and am rediscovering the small Celtic harp. Before becoming a mom, I used to perform at renaissance fairs. Even though I’m not an amazing musician, people, especially children, enjoy listening to me. And I love playing the harp as it feels like I am creating Celtic knots in sounds.

That’s all from me. Please feel free to add a link to your blog/newsletter/whathaveyounot as I am happy to read yours!

These are the three paintings I had in the exhibition last year!
